About the Play

Fragmented Frida is an original one woman show in two acts. It tells the journey of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo.

A rebellious and crippled young Frida Kahlo, after facing an episode of bullying due to her Jewish heritage, and being told “she was found in the trash by her parents”, is determined to prove that she is not a “nobody”. But a tragic nearly fatal bus accident, her own insecurities, substance abuse and a heartbreaking betrayal, leave Frida in shambles. Shattered and alone, Frida is forced to  look at her own self and depict her suffering on the canvas, becoming the most iconic female painter of all time.

At the end of the day, we can endure much more than we think we can.
